Cherry Blossoms in Washington D.C.

Hello Everyone!

Happy Spring! I hope you're enjoying the warm weather as much as I am. Of course if you live back home, in California, then warm weather is a year round thing haha. In Virginia, however, it's getting warm enough to wear shorts, sandles, and most importantly I get to put away my winter coat! The flowers have also started to pop up around town. Speaking of flowers: Cherry Blossoms! Since last year, I've made it a goal to go back up to Washington D.C. and see the famously beautiful Japanese cherry blossoms. Keeping a close watch online, the day finally came. So my hubby and I packed our stuff and drove about 3 hours; We live close :). We got extremely lucky and the weather was bright and sunny, took some amazing photos, lingered around downtown, and ate sushi burritos!

The map of the area; Note the different types of cherry trees. Yoshino are the more abundant variety.

Do you see the tiny stars hidden in their center? :)
My outfit. The same skirt from my fashion post, click here!
The blossoms were at 50% bloom during our visit
As they age, the blossoms change from white to pink.

Souvenirs. We put the iron-on patch on my husband's denim jacket.
And the last thing of our day. . . Sushi Burritos! We each got a different kind and shared; Both were super delicious! The place we got ours was at Buredo on 14th St. NW.
