Grandview Nature Preserve

Hello Everyone,
I was doing some research of the beaches in my surrounding area, trying to find a nice place to hunt for sea glass. My husband and I drove about 20-30mins to a beach that was located on a nature preserve. Upon arriving, we parked by the entrance for the trail that leads to the beach, which is actually in a residental neighborhood! The trail cuts right through a swamp marsh, with lots of tall grass on either side and a few wooden sitting benches. In the morning heat the cicadas were already humming and chirping, singing, as dragonflies darted about.

The trail had lots of small rocks!

Eventually the trail became more sandy as we got closer to the ocean :)

The first glimce of the ocean!

You can't tell by the pictures but the beach was covered in sea shells! I collected some really beautiful shells and a passing stranger asked if I was collecting sea glass, which I responed yes and she handed me some pieces she found! Amongst the sea shells, other forms of sea life can be found: jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, and some red spieces of algae(I think).

Be careful where you step!

Not coral. The texture is very soft and flexiable.
It was one of the most beautiful, private, beaches I've ever been too and I can't wait to return :)
And on a side note, that same stranger from before gave me more sea glass as we were leaving! So nice of them.

Sunrise at the beach

Hello Everyone!
Until just recently, I've never had the pleasure to watch the sunrise from the beach. Now that I have, I would highly recommend it! It was very sureal, if not magical, to see the transition of colors in the morning sky. Sitting in the sand, complete darkness surrounding me, the sound of the ocean waves and cold salt water against my bare feet. Finally, a soft pink glow rising along the horizon, a purple haze, and then a bright yellow ball. My favorite part is how the sun casts it's rays just along the surface of the water like glitter, twinkling, but it only lasts but for a moment.

I had only 2 seconds to take this picture and I got it lol

Indulge in the Little Things

Hello Everyone!
For a while now, I've been meaning to show my hubby a particular neighborhood in our town, that I discovered on my own a few months back, the reason being because it strongly resembles the city where we used to live in upstate New York. However, I'll need to make another post about this area because I'd need to put aside a day to explore it properly. It's so beautiful and really deserves it's own post!
The very first thing we did was get a bite to eat, it was lunch time, so we popped into this charming little cafe called 'Indulge'. Which also happened to be located right next door to the gastro pub 'Circa 1918', that my husband said he's been meaning to bring me someday.

My hubby ordered their B.L.T.A.E
I ordered the tuna tacos
Afterwards, we each got a sweet treat from the bakery, an oatmeal cream pie and a boston cream donut. With our bellies full and happy, we walked down to the street corner, where my favorite antique shop was located. This antique shop is really cool because it used to be owned by a doctor, so many of the rooms were once examination rooms; It also has a cafe!
Instead of going home after our shopping, we drove around the neighborhood a bit and discovered a small hidden park, with a little running stream. We also found the ocean, haha, it was so close to us and we didn't even realize.

The tiny secluded park

If it wasn't so blistering hot that day we would have stayed longer but the humidity was really high, which means if the temperature says 92 degrees fahrenheit, it actually feels like 102!
